This was a Newbery Honor Book in 1996. I read this book quite a few years ago and don't even remember the details of why I didn't like it. Sorry about that. I only remember that it wasn't something I could like, maybe because of the language/conversations.
This is the only book I've read by this author and I'm giving it two stars because I didn't dislike it enough to think, "I'll never trust this author with another 5 hours of my time," or anything like that. I do plan to read another of his book ...more
