You know, I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and I think very appropriate for someone also about to turn 30, although I have absolutely zero desire to debone fowl in anticipation of the big day. It made me think I should do something equally ridiculous though. Perhaps I should vow to watch every NCIS episode ever made (or maybe I've already come so close to that goal that it would be silly...)

I love food, I love women's memoirs/female narration, and I'm a blogger, so this book was right up my alley, thematically...but it left me with kind of an overdone taste in my mouth. I enjoyed this book more when I first picked it up; by the last third, I felt like it was just more of the same; I was bored with the narrator, and that kind of killed it for me. I liked this book. It wasn't spectacular or anything, but still pretty good. (I have to say I did not enjoy the frequent use of profanities, which is why it lost a star for me). It is very good at describing foods, scents, textures, etc. I liked Julie's personality, and now I want to read more about Julia Child! ...more

This book was very inspirational for me because I am at that age where I feel like I should have accomplished more than I have. It made it okay to accomplish something for yourself alone and not try to measure yourself against waht you should have done.
