Author Shapton uses the format of an auction catalog to tell the tale of a four year relationship, now dissolved, between a man and a woman.
Very clever. Precious. But not in a bad way. Makes you think about lists, documenting things, airline tickets, receipts, hip presents, cool friendships, wannabe artists, handwriting, cake, photographs, vintage books and clothes...
