I loved it. Because it's a story about true love, about a crime, about intrigues, about family-relationships and though it seems like a real story which could happen every day.
Ronnie, the main character, a 17-year-old girl is authentic. I don't understand how Sparks can describe a teenie girl with her feelings so well. What's he? He's a man, isn't he? ;)

Well I liked this book. Nicholas Sparks is like a guilty pleasure for me! I liked the main character, she was just so good an honest! But of course it wouldn't be a Sparks book if there wasn't a tragedy in the end! When I got to page 300, I thought it would be avoided but no.... This is another wishy washy love story but has a taste of seriousness.
Ronnie really got on my nerves to begin with - a whiney, ungrateful teenager.
I was shocked by some of the language id never expect from Nicholas Sparks.

Am embarrassed to admit I read this. My mom left it at my house when I had my surgery and I was sucked right in. Have not seen the movie, but the book is pretty emotional. At its heart it is a coming of age novel that includes a lot of drama.
Started really slow. I almost didn't want to keep reading it, but I got involved about half way through and really enjoyed it. Predictable, but I still had a strong bond with the characters.

I really, really enjoyed this book. It has the perfect mix of sadness and happiness. This is (without a doubt) my favorite Nicholas Sparks book to date. :)
