I wanted to read this novel because it takes place on the Spokane Reservation in Washington - and I lived near there... well, about 25 miles on the other side of Spokane, anyway. I bought a copy of the book for the 2020 PopSugar Reading Challenge prompt about reading a banned book during Banned Book Week in September. This book was challenged several times in high school districts, so it showed up on banned books lists.
