One of the rare occasions where I felt the movie was better than the book. Maybe it was just because I had seen the movie first, but I didnt feel like the book added any additional insight into the characters or plot of the book. There were times I felt it dragged quite a bit. This may be a testament to the actresses who really brought these characters to life in a bright authentic manner and a film that slapped you in the face emotionally

An absolute gem of a book. Big issues which are still relevant today but told in such a warm-hearted and uplifting way.Laugh out loud moments and one's of genuine anger. I didn't want the book to end and would have loved to see how it continued.

This book should be rated 4 1/2 stars, it is that good. The Help reminds me a lot of To Kill a Mockingbird. I liked the perspective of this book, and it I found that I was thinking about it, when I wasn't reading it.

Skeeter Phelan wants to be a writer and after talking to an editor in New Y ork she decides to write a book about black maids in her community. I really liked the maids Aibileen and Minny but didn't really care about Skeeter which stopped me from giving this book a higher rating.

The Help was possibly the best book I've read since The Poisonwood Bible, definitely a book I will read again. The fact that this kind of behavior was taking place not too many years before I was born is incredible.
