This book should be rated 4 1/2 stars, it is that good. The Help reminds me a lot of To Kill a Mockingbird. I liked the perspective of this book, and it I found that I was thinking about it, when I wasn't reading it.

I was blown away by this book. I heard the raving and reviews but didn't really believe them. I thought it would be another depressing and overwhelming view of segregation in the south - which strikes to my core.
Yes, it did involve the tragedy of black versus white, poor versus rich, and the ever segragating lines that darkens our lives. But this book was redemptive and strong. The characters didn't just sit back and fear throughout life - they fought their battles and stood for right. They liv ...more
