This book is a work of art. Love, friendships, getting older... it sounds so cliche, but it's so beautifully done, so universal. Also a charming step back to America in the late 80s. Simpler times? Life has always been complex. Having the entire story framed in one day's time was fascinating. The characters are so real, I feel like they live next door, honest, flawed, and well-intentioned. The main character jokes that she isn’t from I Love Lucy, but she most certainly is...the whole book is a slightly more current, darker, extended version of the old sitcom.

I really liked this novel. All characters are so real and this makes the reader to easily identify with one of the character. I really like this kind of books that depicts the reality with no other writer's addition.
My copy of this book is in romanian.
