Though it is well-written, I felt somewhat let down by this book. Going by the blurb, I read through pages of character development while looking forward to the Kelleher clan descending on the holiday house in Maine. I was eager to see them all interacting under the same roof, but that didn't happen until much later in the novel, then again involving only a few members of the family. Well my reading has slowed down since the semester started. This took me a while, but I really enjoyed the writing and the story. It is the story of a mother, daughter and granddaughter who don't totally get along but spend time together in the family beach house on coastal Maine near Oqunquit. There is also a sisterinlaw, who after 30 plus years of marriage hasnt been completely accepted into the family. Their roots are in Southie so I enjoyed the background stories of growing up Irish Catholic
