Paretsky's been a favorite of mine for a while, and it's interesting to see her work in a world outside of Chicago's underbelly. I really loved how this book came together, particularly with the final section - the final fates of the characters are thoroughly plausible, even if some of the other elements aren't. ...more

How did I not add this earlier? This was dark, and sad, and honest -- totally unlike her VI Warshawski novels, but lovely all the same.
