I've got a soft spot for historical fiction about World War II, and added this to my list to read after seeing it had won the Prix Goncourt for best debut novel of 2010. Having finally gotten around to it, I was surprised to find that it's not a conventional work of historical fiction about the assassination of Reichprotector Reinhard Heydrich by British-trained soldiers (one Czech, one Slovak).
