What Members Thought

It took a little while to get used to the writing style of this book; written so that you can hear the narrator speaking as you read, and with its eccentric spelling. Once past that, this is a tale of family and relationships. Love in all sorts of forms somehow comes through the abuse, self-doubt, race and gender issues. A little gem.

I read this in college but it didn't stick out in my mind. I would like to read it again now that I am a little older and less busy.

Withe the xception of the Rabbit books which I struggled through Pullitzer Prize winning novels consistently dazzle. This must be one of Spielbergs only films I haven't seen so I came to it fairly blind and loved it. I can see how the ending of the book will be filmed and look forward to seeing it. Very sentimental but how would you want the book to end?.
