What Members Thought
Rose marries and moves into her new husband's family home. As her life proceeds, she becomes more and more attached to this house. In essence, everything attached to the house:her mother-in-law, her husband, the butler, etc. when the Emperor makes the decision to modernize the city, Rose's house is to be torn down to accommodate the expansion of Saint Germaine. Rose spends the rest of her days fighting this. A good book, but not great...

Disappointing for me. I loved Sarah's Key, but found this one sentimental and boring. The bright side was that it took place in Paris, so at least the setting was interesting.
