I've reread this after almost ten years, and I can say I enjoyed the story and the characters more than when I read it for the first time. The first time felt like I was studying it for school lol even though I never read this for school, obviously. I spent too much time focusing on the metaphors, motifs, etc.

Oh wow. What an emotionally intense book! Lots of metaphors, but basically the story is about a guy who is longing to repeat his past - and can't cope with the reality that it is impossible! I like the way the story revealed, but I'm not sure about the ending though. It is too much for me. Anyway, I can't wait to see the movie though. Mr. DiCaprio would be perfecto as the Great Gatsby :)
