This is a book of two halves. The first is a fast-paced abduction/kidnap story- the boy being kidnapped from his moneyed grandmother in New York, who is raising him because his radical parents are busy elsewhere with their own battles. Dial, who comes to take him to visit his mother, becomes his abductee as events overtake them and she is forced to rely on underground networks to hide the two of them.
