Carl Morck works for the homicide department in Copenhagen. He and two fellow officers were recently shot at and Carl is having a hard time coping. His boss makes Carl head of Department Q which is assigned cold cases. Department Q consists of Carl and a non-police assistant Assad who has many hidden talents. Enjoyed this first book in a Danish crime series, but it wasn't all that different from other Scandinavian crime novels.
