What Members Thought
My son is studying this book at school and wanted me to read it too so we could talk to each other about it. I think it's very powerful and I can see why it is regarded as a classic - an awful lot to think about packed into a short space. We also watched the movie starring John Malkovich, which is a very faithful adaptation.

The interplay between George and Lennie really gets to the heart of many conflicts in relationships between friends.
Somehow I've managed to make it to my third decade without reading this, and I'm glad I've rectified the oversight. A somber tale for sure, but challenges the notion that life arranges itself in tidy packets without forcing awful choices.
