What Members Thought
This is very much a work of its time. It feels very '70s. The writing is quite masculine and the story is gritty and filled with scenes of violence and depravity. I felt like I was watching a more sweeping version of an early Martin Scorsese movie while I was reading it. It took me a little bit of time to get used to the writing style and the era-specific slang, but I was hooked once the plot started moving. This book can easily be knocked out in a matter of days.
