Certainly, this is not a perfect book to read in Valentine period. It is bleak depiction of love between a loner man and a socialite girl. The title "Pan" is perfect to describe that man, as a god of the wild, doomed to be a loner. When he is in love, he becomes delusional, interpreting gestures and words in most unimaginable way, like a paranoiac. The girl is even worse.
