I absolutely love Nevil Shute's prose. It isn't flowery or poetic, but I always feel as though he is telling his story directly to me, a very matter-of-fact way of writing.
This is the story of Tom Cutter, who becomes enthralled with aviation at a young age, where he meets Connie, a fellow engineer. After WWII, Cutter goes to the Middle East to start up a flying delivery business throughout the Middle East and all points east.
