This was a book that while I was reading it wasn't very impressed. I wasn't happy that the dog on the cover was a golden retriever instead of a Lab/Terrier/Shepard-Poodle Mix. I am not interested in car racing at all. And just looking at the cover - you'd think this book is just going to be all about a fun loving dog and his wild adventrues. You can't judge a book by it's cover.

I really love the concept of this book and Enzo is endearing. The execution, however, left much to be desired. The entire story about Denny's wife getting sick and then his young cousin accusing him of sexual molestation seemed unnecessary and like a completely different novel. The voice and point of view of Enzo seemed to fade in and out. I also could have done without all of the racing stories and metaphors, though I realize that was part of the concept as well.
