There is probably a lot to dislike about this book, but I'm not gonna lie...I absolutely loved it. That has a lot to do with my dog, Ilex, and losing her earlier this year. I cried like a baby during the first chapter because so much of that hit close to home. I cried again at the end and at various places in between.

I shun feel-good books because I don't like having my feelings manipulated. This, to me, is the distinction between a good novel and a bad one - the latter is maudlin, often clumsy and transparent in its approach even if its intentions are good, and provide nothing in the way of brain massages. The former is... an essay for another day.

Amazing. The Art of Racing in the Rain is a fantastic book for animal lovers and motosport lovers alike. The charm, humanity, and insightfulness of Enzo, the narrator, will stay with the reader long after finishing the book. It has made me even further appreciate my dog, Bandit, as well as consult his opinion more regularly. A surprisingly wonderful book.

This book is wonderful! I really liked the POV of the dog. It is really well written and the characters are very real. It is interesting to see the world from the perspective of a dog, makes you think how much the animals really understand!
