5 stars for the writing, 2 stars for the story itself. So much senseless violence that didn't seem to contain much of a story arc, and yet the writing itself was so compelling, so beautiful. I wouldn't have minded the violence at all if there was just more sense to it. I would happily try more McCarthy again, for he certainly has a unique and poignant voice. I also would be much happier if there were punctuation marks, at the very least in the dialogue. ...more
