To enjoy Jo Nesbo's books, particularly Harry Hole series, you really have to go with his flow. Sometimes it's a bit slow, sometimes it's quite predictable, and sometimes he takes his time to go on rambling about a very unrelated topic. But in the end, I love it. I love the experience, the gritty, tough, brutal experience watching Harry tried to find a grip, wishing him all the best things ahead.

I really wanted to like this better than I did, but I struggle with Hole as a character - it seems that he puts on and takes off his foibles at will to serve the plot, which makes him seem more like a caricature than someone I can root for. I've dipped into this series a couple of times now, and for whatever reason it's just not taking.

Not as exciting, intriguing or well written as the other Harry Hole novels.
