Sandor Marai is truly a wonderful writer. The translator, George Szertes has made Marai's books a pleasure to read.

Portraits of a Marriage is tale of 3 parts and an epilogue, describing a marriage and Hungary between, during and after the Wars. There are 4 main characters who each have a section that is told from their own point of view.
