What Members Thought

The Egyptologist is interesting in that it is intricately woven but, after the final page, it leaves with a sense of indifference. The story is full of so many elements: crime, wealth, mysterious identities, violence, destruction, self-destruction, dreams of immortality, and other obsessions. There are the old monied, rising classes, the impoverished, Communists, university scholars, and more. The principle backdrops are the Great War and the archaeology fields of Egypt.

A bizarre trip inside the minds of unreliable narrators run amok. Sadly, the humor in this one just wasn't my speed - kind of a disappointment.
