I have been a huge fan of Katherine Swynford ever since I read Anya Seton's "Katherine" when I was a teenager. She is one of my favorite historical women and not much is know of her, in spite of the fact that she and John of Gaunt were ancestors of many of the Kings and Queens in Europe. This book is very good and certainly gives many more details of her life, and the life of John of Gaunt, than anything I've read. It's a very enjoyable read. Alison Weir certainly does her research!
