Thus far, I've made it about 40% through this book. I really wanted to enjoy it, but the problem is the plot advances at an incredibly slow pace. Part of the problem is that it seems like there are many unneeded sections and descriptions that beleaguer the advancement of the plot. Absolutely gorgeous and deadly accurate portrait of parental love, worry, grief and regret. It is also a reminder of the paranoia and constant anxiety that accompany living in a state that is always at war, in this case, Israel. I loved this book but found it a little overwritten in parts and just longer than it needed to be.
