I just couldn't decide if I should give this book four stars or three. I decided to give it four starts because I think maybe I just wasn't focused enough to appreciate it. But then I decided to give it three because I'm not postive I would recommend it to people. It was not as good as The Girls, the other book I just read by this author.

What a lovely book. Some chapters got to the point of breaking my heart and then it moved on. I loved how the two stories came together and thought the ending was beautiful.
I liked that there were two stories going on at the same time. I liked that I couldn't predict how the stories were going to intersect until they actually did. I enjoyed this book, and would recommend it.

A quite interesting story centering on race relations and family relationships as well as cultural differences between the US and Canada.
