WWII soldiers-and-nurses romance fluff with an unconvincing murder plot and a pretty silly island "curse" thrown in. Set in Bora Bora, which is mostly described as pretty beaches, scary jungle and a couple of strategically placed hibiscus bushes. Disappointing, considering the fascinating history of the South Pacific and the spectacular beauty of Bora Bora. Not great literature, but the kind of novel you would pick up at the airport bookstore to read on your flight or resort vacation.

Why did I do this? Blech. Rolled eyes and scoffed all the way through listening to this. Maybe some people like this kind of garbage but not me. And it's flawed.

The ending was a little too happy for me, but an interesting look at WWII in the Pacific and a strange aftermath.
Such an incredibly beautiful story!! I was completely swept away into the jasmine-scented South Pacific.....
This is an excellent romance set in Bora Bora in World War II and also in present day.
