Amazing book. For anyone that enjoys historical fictions this is up there with one of the best that I've read.

A big sweeping epic that's weighed down by a protagonist idealized far beyond plausibility and some extremely awkward exposition that does more to show off the author's research than contribute to the story. A resounding meh.
