What Members Thought

I starting reading this, not realizing until partway, that it's the third in a series featuring a female Sicilian doctor/coroner who acts as a kind of investigator in 12th-century England. That explained a lot, since there seemed to be a lot of allusions to past events and relationships -- so this is a case where I'd strongly recommending starting with the first book in the series, Mistress of the Art of Death.
