What Members Thought
I read the first book in this mystery series back in 2011, and I loved it, and sadly a few months later the author passed away. I was so crushed at the thought of only a finite number of books from this author that I could not bring myself to read the rest of the series. When the 2025 Popsugar reading challenge list included "a book you've avoided reading" I knew it was time for me to pick up book #2 in this series, because yes I'm reluctant, but not because I think it will be bad.

An entertaining read, great setting, a cold cold and snowy winter in 12th century England, I felt the chill just reading it.
Second in series of medieval coroner and csi during the reign of Henry II of England. Excellent story
