What Members Thought
As with most Nordic crime novels, there is a distinctly depressing tone to this book. There are a few characters that I got attached to, notably Erica and Patrik, but the psychopaths were just to self serving to feel any empathy toward them at all.
An OK mystery with way too many side stories and characters that went nowhere. The whole book was way too long (almost 400 pages) for a mystery novel.
After reading The Ice Princess several years ago and being favorably impressed, this one is a major letdown. While part of it may be the fact that I'm reading this many years after its original publication, it just feels so old hat - the major plot twists and turns are far too easy to guess far in advance. While I enjoy her characters, the plot is just far too feeble to carry them.

Ok story but it bounced between characters so much it felt disjointed.
