Yet another book club selection that I read and failed to connect with. I'm not sure what it is about these kinds of books (Alice Munro is another example), but while I can recognize and appreciate the craft involved, I'm just not moved by the storytelling or any of the characters. In this book we meet Maine schoolteacher Olive Kitteridge, who lies at the heart of some of the book's stories, and at the periphery of others. I wasn't a big fan. i do not like short stories, although this collection was better than many others. I did like the fact that Olive Kitteridge made an appearance in almost every story. It went very slowly for me, because once one story was finished, I was very reluctant to pick up the next one.
