What Members Thought
Fascinating and informative, this book taught me a great deal about the art establishment in France in the mid 19th Century, and those who stormed the gates of that establishment. It was a slow storm, but ultimately implacable. I also enjoyed coming to see Messonier as the surprising hero of the book.
