It was an entertaining chick-lit read only because I was in Argentina at the time of reading. The author's observations on Buenos Aires and Argentinians were what made the book readable. The plot was predictable and the character development was thin. But it had a satisfying (even if predictable) ending. ...more

Everything about the main character was annoying, and I found myself hating the ridiculous choices she made throughout the book. I enjoyed the setting... but everything else was predictable and annoying.

Having recently read John Lantigua's THE LADY FROM BUENOS AIRES, this title intrigued me. Lantigua's book was a mystery w/ a central focus on "the disappeared" in a Miami present day setting. Morrison included some of the background of the dirty war but her focus was a lighter romance and was very enjoyable. ...more
