I remember being so disappointed in this book but I feel like giving it another try because I want to see its version of Budapest, having just finished (and loved) Ballad of the Whiskey Robber: A True Story of Bank Heists, Ice Hockey, Transylvanian Pelt Smuggling, Moonlighting Detectives, and Broken Hearts. So here I am, over a decade later, going at this a second time.
