This novel is a beautiful story about a boy and his relationships with dogs. He struggles because of his mutenee but he triumphs because of his insight. I really enjoyed his connection with Almomdine, but I would have liked them an opportunity to say goodbye before she died. The descriptions of nature were breathtaking. I loved the character of Henry and what he added to Edgar's human relationships. I enjoyed seeing the Hamlet parallels. Over all, a magnificent first novel. ...more
