I'm not sure what it means when you read three books in one day and you understand none of them.

At least I liked this one.

It's the story of two pirates who come across a treasure map and set sail on a boat named Aeiu and arrive on an island called Ooroo and set about searching for jewels and in the process decide to get rid of all words with an O in them.

Yes, it's quirky. It's strange. But it's also filled with silly word play and clever asides and it's just plain fun.

Do I understand it? No,

This is a word lover's book. It is inventive and entertaining read that also touches on major topics such as censorship, oppression and dictatorship. It is also a fantasy on how the world of literature and history saves the island people. I loved it. I would caution against giving it to young children, even though it looks like a children's book. While reading this story I was reminded of the book "Ella Minnow Pea", it would be great to read these two books together. ...more
