Light and frothy magical read. Perfect for when you don't want to have to think but want something absorbing to escape into. My favourite character was the apple tree. It doesn't have a speaking part but gets its messages across anyway by throwing apples. I want a tree like that!

Definitely lightweight, but Allen's affection for Southern settings and the social/cultural aspects of those areas really comes through nicely. A pleasant and swift diversion.

Just a sweet little story about 2 sisters, a daughter and their aunt Evanelle who has the ability to sense what someone needs before they need it. Set in North Carolina and lots of talk about how flowers can be used for all sorts of ailments. A tree with a personality - that's a first.
