Two years ago I read Ô Jérusalem by Larry Collins after I came back from a trip to Israel, which was an hour by hour account of the birth of a new nation. This book is a memoir of a first generation Israeli who was born in Jerusalem in 1939, and lived through the birth pangs, growing up along with the new Israel. I found myself confused at times because the story went back and forth chronologically, and between members of his extended family, but overall I enjoyed the book and read it with inter ...more
