What Members Thought

This is a good book deserving of the Pulitizer Prize in 1920. When I first started reading this book I thought, Thank God, I don't live in 1870's New York. I also thought this book isn't relevant to today but now I have changed that opinion. This book is relevant because I believe it represents a struggle that many people deal with: appearance, values and society. Newland Archer is engaged but is attracted to the married cousing of his fiancee. An interesting look into upperclass New York life at the end of the 1800's. I found Newland to be rather annoying and like both women far more than I liked him.
