Well, it's about time, eh? I'd never read this book, though it seems to be a cultural touchstone. Now I know why--it was excellent, poignant, insightful, engaging, humorous, and, a forceful commentary on the evils of racism. Memorable characters painted in full colors. I listened to this audiobook and really, really enjoyed Sissy Spacek's reading--she was just right in bringing these southern characters alive.
