Everyone should read this book at least once...and once is probably enough. Dolphus Raymond was my favorite character. I love the scene between him, Dill and Scout under the tree outside of the courthouse. And of course I liked Atticus' closing argument.

I read this book again to honor the 50th anniversary, that was this past weekend. It will always be my favorite book. The favorite scene in the book was Atticus' summation to the jury.

Well, it's about time, eh? I'd never read this book, though it seems to be a cultural touchstone. Now I know why--it was excellent, poignant, insightful, engaging, humorous, and, a forceful commentary on the evils of racism. Memorable characters painted in full colors. I listened to this audiobook and really, really enjoyed Sissy Spacek's reading--she was just right in bringing these southern characters alive.
