This was a book I'd read several years ago, and decided to re-read it since it was a "prequel" to When A Crocodile Eats the Sun, which I recently finished. It's an autobiography of Peter Godwin, growing up in Zimbabwe (when it was still Rhodesia), before Mugabe took over. Expat boarding schools, life in the Rhodesian military, white rule vs. black - all a good read and well written. ...more
