What Members Thought
Magnificent book of a very difficult story. I listened to it and thought it was amazing. The narrator sounded like Henry Fonda who of course starred in the 1941 movie. The deprivation was hard to fathom and the cruelty and mistreatment of the migrant workers was really sad. But the writing was just so wonderful. I loved the characters and how they reacted to all the troubles along the trip. Ma Joad was written so well - she starts out just being the cook and washerwoman and ends up being the hea
