What Members Thought
Wow. A very well-crafted book. This is one of those books that you will remember forever. I think it is also a book that I would benefit by reading again. Knowing the whole story, I am sure there are MANY things one would notice on a second reading. I'm glad this book, though very long, was chosen for one of my book clubs.

For me, this book has its moments, but still a bit too long. I like the character descriptions, so detailed and rich, I can actually imagine Owen Meany clearly in my mind. However, the jump around timeline is a bit confusing sometimes, and the narrator (apparently based on John Irving's own self) is a bit boring, LOL
The main theme of religion, belief, God, and politics are sometimes very interesting to follow, but sometimes a bit too much and unimportant (like this rambling complaints ...more
