I like the idea of this book: adventuring with balloon to a mysterious volcanic island. The vibe is similar to Around The World in 80 Days.
But I don't like two things about this book:
1. The translation: it's so bad and all over the place, lots of mistakes and even the blurb at the back of the book contained a very serious error (The professor was found with 20 balloons, not 21. The 21 balloons refer to his other balloon, Globe).
2. The writer has mistakenly said that Krakatoa Island is in Pacifi ...more

This is the story of a man who takes a hot air balloon trip and ends up stranded on Krakatoa, a volcanic island that is secretly inhabited. The island is a planned community of sorts. Very cute little story about a balloonist and his relaxing worldwide trip gone awry. Quick read and would probably make a good read-aloud.
