This was a really fascinating, supernatural-feeling book recommended to me by the illustrious Brian Williams. The characters, particularly Aurora and the earlier generations of de Gamas and Zogoibys had an almost-mythical air about them. As the book progressed the airy feel of the book dissipated and the action mounted, so that the book became very exciting and plot-driven.
